一封朝奏九重天，夕贬潮阳路八千。欲为圣明除弊事，肯将衰朽惜残年！云横秦岭家何在？雪拥蓝关马不前。知汝远来应有意，好收吾骨瘴江边。

韩愈（768-824），字退之，河南河阳（今河南省孟州市）人，自称“郡望昌黎”。唐代中期官员，文学家、思想家、哲学家。有《韩昌黎集》传世。
HAN Yu (768-824), styled Retreat, a native of Heyang, Henan (present-day Mengzhou, Henan Province). He claimed that he was born into a “Famous Family in Changli County”. Han was an official, litterateur, thinker and philosopher in the mid-Tang dynasty. He authored Han Changli’s Anthology. (邵瑞雪译)
